My love of streamlining goes into overdrive when it comes to packing. I like to have all of my bits and pieces in one bag when I travel around so to keep things organised and neat. For this weekend’s trip, a jaunt down to my home town to visit my family, I think I’ve really nailed it with just ten products. So here’s one to bookmark for your next weekend away where you need to pack light – whether it be for space-saving reasons or just good clean fun…
A Light Coverage Base – By Terry Sheer Expert – This natural and multi-corrective foundation adjusts and blends with the skin to reveal a perfect and natural complexion. Now this one is negotiable depending on what your weekend plans entail, but for a laid-back, night-out-free two or three day trip you can’t go wrong with this. It erases imperfections, combats shine, signs of aging and adapts automatically to all types of complexions. Best of all… it brightens the face for a visibly sublime glow.
A Cover All Concealer – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – Blemishes? Done. Bags? Done. General annoying redness? Done.
A Cheek/Lip Hybrid – NARS Multiple in Maui – A perky punch of colour to the cheeks and lips can be delivered by this handy stick which is creamy and long-lasting enough for both tasks in hand. Plus it can be applied with fingers. You see any brushes round here? No I think not…
A Mascara – Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara in Brown– Any old mascara will do, but this is my favourite. Curl-holding, non-crumbling and length-giving. Plus, if brushed on lightly enough, this will easily double as a brow tamer!
A Smudgey Eyes Product – By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection – Just in case you feel in the mood to ramp up your eye look somewhat then it’s always good to have some kind of brown creamy eye liner or shadow stick hanging around. Line, smudge, stick all over your lids. Sorted.
A Multi-Tasking Oil – Caudalie Divine Oil – Overnight treatment, all-rounder dry spot carer, in one handy little (most importantly) spill-free bottle.
A Cleanser – Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil – Infused with Vitamin C and nourishing Olive, Grapeseed and Rosehip oils, this highly soluble oil transforms itself, upon contact with water, into a light milky texture. Boosted with Rosemary oil, Vitamin E and soothing Cucumber oil it gently dissolves face and eye make-up and removes daily impurities. Perfect.
An AM/PM Moisturiser – Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion – Finding a moisturiser that’s rich enough for evenings (if you’re not feeling an oil), but light enough for a base layer during the day is a toughie, but this one is just right.
A Hair Do-It-All – Oribe Dry Texturising Spray – A mattifier, holder, volumiser and all-round hair sexifier in one packable spritzer. I never travel without this.
A Perfume – Diptyque Vetyverio – The freshest perfume I own, a quick spritz and you’re done.
Add in some cotton pads and buds, a toothbrush, toothpaste, eyelash curler deodorant and you’re good to go. Oh and I’ve taken for granted the fact that where you’re visiting will have all the shower supplies you need on offer – shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Ok, so maybe I cheated a little. But still the bulk of your beauty bag is set in just ten moves, not bad, huh?
