Bobbi’s Killin’ It

This year Bobbi Brown is killing it with her eyeshadow palettes. I. Need. Them. All.

After having a swatch and try session today I’m happy to say that all shades stand up to Bobbi’s usual standards. Perfect.

Perhaps these are something to add to your christmas list?

Warm Eye PaletteLimited Edition – This palette has everything a girl needs to make her eyes stand out. Housed in this sleek compact is 4 matte shades, all of which deliver buildable, richly pigmented colour: Bone – an off white, Malted – a soft grey brown, Sable – a medium brown and Espresso – a dark chocolate brown. The other two shades in the palette are Champagne Quartz – a metallic eye shadow and Gold – a sparkle eye shadow, that both allow you to add a wash of shimmer to any look.
This palette would be top of my christmas list, it’s perfect for anyone who wants to create a range of warm and sultry eye looks. These silky matte, metallic and sparkle powder shadows are wearable and buildable in shades that deliver a range of subtle to sultry eye looks. Sweep the lightest shade from lashline to browbone. Next, dust any of the medium shades on the lower lid; if you choose to layer more than one shadow on the lower lid, start with a matte shadow then top with one of the sparkly or metallic shadows. Use the darkest shade to line eyes.

Warm Glow Eye PaletteLimited Edition – This gorgeous Eye Palette has everything you need to make eyes sparkle with rich, bronzy metallics, rose golds and deep browns. It comes in a gorgeous faux-croc case that you’ll love to pull out at parties. Ideal for the woman who wants to bring subtle, sultry Hollywood glamour to her look this Christmas with a range of confident, glam eye looks.

Hand-picked by Bobbi to flatter a wide range of skin tones, this palette is all you need for the Christmas party circuit. Palette includes matte shadows in Flesh – a warm pale cream, Beige – a warm beige, and Rich Caviar – a rich black brown; Metallic Eye Shadow in Golden Pink, Rose, Velvet Bronze and Golden Bronze; Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Bonfire and Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold.

Sweep the lightest shade from lashline to browbone. Next, dust any of the medium shades on the lower lid; if you choose to layer more than one shadow on the lower lid, start with a matte shadow.

Smokey Nudes Eye PaletteLimited Edition – The star of Bobbi’s Smokey Nudes Collection is this versatile eye shadow palette that creates smokey eye looks that work for both day and night — simply layer the shadows until you get the intensity you want. Featuring eight mix-and match shades in soft matte, sparkle and metallic finishes for looks that are subtle, yet sexy in all the right ways.

Just right for any woman who wants a wearable take on the smokey eye (from subtle to very sexy) — this palette is perfect for beginners as well as pros. This palette features shades that suit every skin tone, and these silky powder formulas create a natural look that’s buildable — all in limited edition mirror compact.

When layering the eye shadows featured in the Smokey Nudes Eye palette, start with a classic Bobbi eye — light allover shadow, medium lid shadow, dark liner and then layer Sparkle Eye Shadow on top.

Going Home – The Weekend Bag

My love of streamlining goes into overdrive when it comes to packing. I like to have all of my bits and pieces in one bag when I travel around so to keep things organised and neat. For this weekend’s trip, a jaunt down to my home town to visit my family, I think I’ve really nailed it with just ten products. So here’s one to bookmark for your next weekend away where you need to pack light – whether it be for space-saving reasons or just good clean fun…

A Light Coverage BaseBy Terry Sheer Expert – This natural and multi-corrective foundation adjusts and blends with the skin to reveal a perfect and natural complexion. Now this one is negotiable depending on what your weekend plans entail, but for a laid-back, night-out-free two or three day trip you can’t go wrong with this. It erases imperfections, combats shine, signs of aging and adapts automatically to all types of complexions. Best of all… it brightens the face for a visibly sublime glow.

A Cover All ConcealerNARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – Blemishes? Done. Bags? Done. General annoying redness? Done.

A Cheek/Lip HybridNARS Multiple in Maui – A perky punch of colour to the cheeks and lips can be delivered by this handy stick which is creamy and long-lasting enough for both tasks in hand. Plus it can be applied with fingers. You see any brushes round here? No I think not…

A MascaraMax Factor False Lash Effect Mascara in Brown– Any old mascara will do, but this is my favourite. Curl-holding, non-crumbling and length-giving. Plus, if brushed on lightly enough, this will easily double as a brow tamer!

A Smudgey Eyes ProductBy Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection – Just in case you feel in the mood to ramp up your eye look somewhat then it’s always good to have some kind of brown creamy eye liner or shadow stick hanging around. Line, smudge, stick all over your lids. Sorted.

A Multi-Tasking OilCaudalie Divine Oil – Overnight treatment, all-rounder dry spot carer, in one handy little (most importantly) spill-free bottle.

A CleanserUna Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil – Infused with Vitamin C and nourishing Olive, Grapeseed and Rosehip oils, this highly soluble oil transforms itself, upon contact with water, into a light milky texture. Boosted with Rosemary oil, Vitamin E and soothing Cucumber oil it gently dissolves face and eye make-up and removes daily impurities. Perfect.

An AM/PM MoisturiserClinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion – Finding a moisturiser that’s rich enough for evenings (if you’re not feeling an oil), but light enough for a base layer during the day is a toughie, but this one is just right.

A Hair Do-It-AllOribe Dry Texturising Spray – A mattifier, holder, volumiser and all-round hair sexifier in one packable spritzer. I never travel without this.

A PerfumeDiptyque Vetyverio – The freshest perfume I own, a quick spritz and you’re done.

Add in some cotton pads and buds, a toothbrush, toothpaste, eyelash curler deodorant and you’re good to go. Oh and I’ve taken for granted the fact that where you’re visiting will have all the shower supplies you need on offer – shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Ok, so maybe I cheated a little. But still the bulk of your beauty bag is set in just ten moves, not bad, huh?

Monday Pamper Session

Monday’s are always a struggle. It doesn’t matter whether you love your job, waking up and getting motivated on a monday morning is hard. To make things a little easier, I like to indulge in a monday papering session, and for this I like to call on the Laura Mercier duo in my collection to help scrub and smooth away those monday blues…

Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Body Scrub – Enjoy polished and glowing skin by massaging your body with this Fresh Fig Scrub. Natural fig seeds gently exfoliate your skin while releasing the sweet, intoxicating fragrance. Breathe in the indulgent essence of fresh Celeste figs blended with dewy apricot nectar and sensuous ylang-ylang and feel invigorated in skin that is baby soft to the touch.

Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Scrub is a polishing scrub made with jojoba beads and fig seeds to gently remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. Sweet almond and rice proteins, along with vitamin B5, provide moisture balance while shea butter and honey naturally condition and protect your complexion. I am in love with the creamy texture of this pampering scrub that not only clarifies and tones your skin, but also leaves your entire body feeling luxuriously soft and silky.

Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Soufflé Body Crème – This silky smooth cream enriches your skin with the delicious scent of fresh figs. Active ingredients instantly nourish and soften without feeling heavy or greasy.

Ultra-rich yet heavenly-light, Laura Mercier’s Fresh Fig Soufflé Body Crème penetrates the skin with much-deserved vitamin A, C and E derivatives. Grape seed, macadamia nut and rice bran oil condition, while fig extract and honey sooth. Sweet almond and rice proteins combine with Pro-Vitamin B-5 to provide moisture, balance and protection – perfect for adding a bit of luxury to an otherwise dull monday.

Have you tried anything from the Laura Mercier bath and body range?

Autumn Outfit Edit – Sunday

The Autumn Edit concludes with outfit 7 – A cosy sunday outfit fit for chilling in bed with a film and a hot chocolate – a perfect way to spend a crisp autumnal day.

COS Striped Pyjama Top and COS Striped Pyjama Trousers – Nothing beats a cos pair of matching pyjamas, and this set from COS is just perfect. The lovely striped pattern is clean and pyjama chic. You wont mind if you have unexpected visitors and you’re snuggled up in these!

Zara Cashmere Sweater – Pair the pyjamas with this cashmere jumper from Zara and you’re on to the worlds most comfiest day in outfit.

The White Company Cashmere Bed Socks – These are not strictly necessary, but they’re nice, soft, cosy and warm. And that’s all the justification I need.

John Lewis Fur Throw – Wrap up in this cosy throw and you’ll be off to the land of nod in no time. It’s the snuggliest, softest blanket known to man and I just love it.

Diptyque Ambre Candle – Now this day wouldn’t be complete without a nice autumnal scented candle burning away in the background. Pop this on, sit back and soak up the scent you’ll be uber relaxed in no time.

I hope you enjoyed my Autumn fashion edit. Perhaps a Winter one could be rustled up next month?

Laura Recommends an Outfit for Autumn…

Yesterday I gave you a rummage through Laura’s Autumn makeup bag – today I’m giving you a peek into Laura’s closet… she’s fashion forward, glamour and sophistication rolled into one. So I quizzed her on what makes the cut for her ultimate Autumn outfit…
“When Autumn rolls around I like to opt for warm burnished toned clothes, like this stunning Bloomsbury Floral Print Midi Dress from Topshop – it’s the perfect mix of autumnal colours as well as having a timeless shape and style. I love how versatile this dress is – it can be layered or worn alone and looks stunning! I wear it with black tights for an autumnal day out or with black courts for a meal with friends!

For a nice day out outfit, I’ll pair this dress with my Luxe Boxy Cut Faux Fur Gilet from Topshop – Gilets are perfect for autumn weather when it’s not quite cold enough for a winter coat, but the best thing about this is that it can be worn casual or smart! Khaki is one of my favourite autumnal colours and looks great with browns and oranges! A perfect accessory for a cold day.

When it comes to autumn, footwear is always a tricky choice, but I think i’ve finally found a perfect pair of winter boots! These Margot Leather Tan Chelsea Boots from Topshop are both stylish and comfortable – the chelsea boot never seems to go out of style and the brown leather really compliments the oranges and reds in the midi dress. The best thing about these is that the small heel adds a little extra length to the legs, whilst not detracting from the detail of the dress.

To tie the whole outfit together I love to accessorise with my big Slouchy Holdall Bag from Topshop (can you sense the theme!) – this large fold over bag is the perfect size to keep all of my stuff in that I need day to day. I love the small gold detailing and the detachable strap, practical but fashionable!”

Hopefully I’ll manage to persuade Laura to get involved on the blog again sometime soon!

Autumn Outfit Edit – Saturday

The Autumn Edit continues with outfit 6 – A weekend autumnal outfit perfect for mulling around town, meeting friends or walking in the crop autumn leaves in the park.

Zara Oversized Checked – This shirt is perhaps my favourite piece of the whole Autumn Edit. There’s nothing better than a comfy, soft, flannel shirt for Autumn and this one from Zara is all kinds of wonderful. The colours are well within my comfort zone and look lovely for a dressed down weekend.

Zara Leather Skinny Trousers – These are a much pricier offering than I can afford (more purse friendly options can be found from River Island) but the soft leather trousers from Zara are just out of this world. Paired with a relaxed flannel shirt they offer a bit of toughness to the outfit and would interchange perfectly with all of the other outfits too.

Zara Bucket Bag – Nothing beats a good bucket bag from Zara and they’re always affordable. Good for when you’re to shopping or meeting friends, this outfit is my go-to choice when having a relaxed weekend.

& Other Stories Cat Eye Sunglasses – A good accent to any outfit is a pair of sunglasses, and with the weather we have been having recently I’ve been needing to pull mine out more than usual. & Other Stories is brilliant for sunglasses, I love my tortoiseshell glasses and I love these cat eye ones too.

& Other Stories Black Suede Flats – A pair of comfortable shoes is a necessity for mooching around at the weekend. I love the almond shape to the toe of this pair and they’re a perfect sturdy shoe for walking in the mulchy leaves.

Laura Recommends Makeup for Autumn…

Today I bring you a rifle through one of my best friends Autumn makeup bags! Meet, Laura. We met on our very first day of university and the rest is history! We’ve always been bonded over our love of makeup and fashion – she’s my one friend that truly shares my passion for Space NK and the aisles of Boots, regularly updating me on her recent purchases and all things beauty. She’s also a bold lip babe! So I quizzed her on what makes the cut for her Autumn beauty bag.

Read on for Laura’s recent palette purchase, bold lip of choice and an ode to products that smell gooood…

“When it comes to foundation I like a medium coverage for Autumn/Winter and my favourite pick this season is from the Revlon Colorstay range – it’s long lasting and has a semi-matte finish which is great for oily t-zone! The best thing is that it sets on skin instantly, and it’s not drying on skin at all – making it perfect for the colder months.

Even though it’s coming up to winter, I still like to inject some colour back into my complexion to warm things up, and for that I like to use Bourjois’ Délice De Poudre Duo Bronzer and Highlighter. The bronzing shade is well pigmented and matte, making it a great contour shade for my fair skin. Plus, it smells amazing too!

For blusher I’m a huge fan of the Benefit Blush in Rockateur – this darker, rose toned blush with a brownish undertone looks amazing with a burnished eye. It compliments my pale skin, as well as my complexion post fake tan. This stuff seems to last forever and smells good too!

For Autumn I’ll be holding on to my NARS And God Created The Woman palette… This is my most recent palette purchase and I’m in love! It houses a mixture of nudes, browns and golds – both matte and shimmer – making them great for blending! The best thing is their amazing staying power. My go to look for an autumn evening is taking the shade Kalahari all over the lid with Galapagos blended into the crease and outer corner, paired with lashings of the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara. This has been a fave for a few months now – it adds lots of volume as well as separates lashes to gives a false lash look which is something I like to rock daily.

I’m a lover of bold berry lips, and this season I’m loving my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama – this dark pink/ brown toned shade is perfect for this time of year. I love the creamy texture of these lip pencils… they don’t dry the lips out and they’re super long lasting! Perfect for an autumn nude or a your lips but better shade.”

Autumn Outfit Edit – Friday

The Autumn Edit continues with outfit 5 – a dressed down comfortable outfit with a socialite twist.

Topshop Stretchy Slouch CardiganGrey – The best investment I made this Autumn was purchasing this cardigan. Comfortable and slouchy, yet paired with the right accessories can look dressed up and put-together. I love the texture of this knit and feel like it can be thrown over any outfit for added comfort and warmth. The perfect piece to add to your collection this Autumn.

Zara Textured Wide T-ShirtWhite – In my wardrobe I can guarantee there are about 8 or 9 versions of this top, but I still keep finding the excuse to buy another – and this is no exception, the texture of this crepe top looks lovely paired with a fluffy knit and the cut is both flattering and relaxed, perfect for layering this season.

Topshop Moto Black Rinse Jamie Jeans – The ultimate jeans. Move over Topshop Leigh jeans because the Jamie’s really hit the spot. They are just a tad thicker than the Leigh’s and feel like real jeans rather than jeggings. I love the stretch in the fabric and the high waisted cut. They’re so flattering and go with absolutely everything! I’ve got two pairs the same now and wear them almost every day! (And this is coming from a non-jeans lover)

Topshop Floppy Wool Fedora HatBlack – I have always wanted to have the confidence to wear a hat without feeling like everyone is looking at you, and this season might have finally ignited that confidence within me. It adds a bit of a glamorous feel to an otherwise dressed down outfit, and I just love the look it creates all together.

Ash Jalouse Woodash Suede Ankle Boots – These boots just keep cropping up – I think I have a problem! This time they’re in woodash – a grey black that I always think runs a little blue in some lights. Needless to say, they’re the perfect ankle boots for this season. And the rest.

Check back tomorrow for Saturday’s Autumn Outfit!

Autumn Outfit Edit – Thursday

The Autumn Edit continues with outfit 4 – a more dressed down approach to autumn but with an iconic fashion piece to catch the eye.

Zara Cashmere SweaterNavy Blue – Nothing says autumn like a cosy (read: costly) cashmere jumper. An investment to be made this Autumn as it’ll see you straight though to winter and looks perfect paired with jeans, a skirt or thrown on over a dress.

Topshop Luxe Silk Joggers by Boutique – A pair of trousers that are both comfy but stylish – the silky fabric looks perfect paired with the texture of the cashmere jumper and add a little flare of effortless chic. Perfect for days that require dressing up or down.

Topshop Kooky Cut Out Loafers Tan – These shoes are so versatile, I recon they could’ve been paired with any of the outfits this week. They’re very comfortable, but look lovely too. The cutouts add a little bit extra than your standard loafers and look fabulous paired with the navy jumper.

Mulberry Alexa Buffalo Leather Satchel – Not much needs to be said about this. An iconic satchel that is not only an investment, but a piece that can be put with everything. Paired with the rest of the outfit the tan gives an extra accent and looks just utterly divine.

& Other Stories Snake Chain Necklace – I styled this outfit with a necklace as I felt the dressed down trousers and jumper combo needed something to dress it up a bit. This necklace from & Other Stories can be paired with anything and looks lovely against the soft texture of the jumper.

Check back tomorrow for Friday’s Autumn Outfit!

Autumn Outfit Edit – Wednesday

The Autumn Edit continues with outfit 3 – with autumn hues making an appearance into my wardrobe, this outfit is the perfect combination of comfort and elegance.

Zara Handmade Long CoatBlue – Word’s cannot describe how much I love this handmade Zara longline coat. The shade of blue, and the draping makes it perfect for Autumn and even ore perfect for wrapping up in when the days start to get shorter and the temperatures start to drop.

Weekday Pingu Knit SweaterRed Blueish Dark – This russet coloured jumper is the epitome of Autumn and makes me feel more than in line with the colour scheme of crispy leaves and pumpkins. I love the combination of this blue toned red with the navy coat and think it’s a lovely way to introduce some subtle colour into my mostly monochrome wardrobe.

Zara Super Skinny High Rise JeansGrey – There’s not much to say about these jeans, other than they go with everything, are super comfy, and very flattering on. They help tie the whole outfit together and paired with the taupe ash boots look very pulled together.

Ash Jalouse Taupe Suede Ankle Boots – There are no words. I want them all.
