Light Coverage Base Round-Up

During the summer I’ve been opting for a more light coverage line-up of face bases and these two have really stuck out as strong favourites and with good reason. Both impart a subtle and sheer coverage without the need for concealer and powder or anything else. Think, fresh faced and glowing…

Chantecaille Just Skin Anti-Smog Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15Glow. On the tinted moisturiser scale this sits just below that of a light coverage foundation. It has all the nourishing qualities and radiance boosting finish of a tinted moisturiser, but it’s slightly thicker texture and pigmented finish leave the skin looking slightly more polished than usual. I find that a pea-sized amount blended all over the face with a Louise Young LY34 Super Foundation brush is the perfect amount for an everyday face, or if I fancy a little less coverage it works nicely massaged into the skin with just fingers. The finish it leaves on the skin is simply gorgeous – that’s where it shows its worth – a glowy, skin-like, evened-out complexion. Wear time is good too – probably eight or so hours go past without me needing too much of a touch-up.

Shade wise, I opted for Glow, but I’m considering a purchase of the shade Bliss for a more Winter suitable colour. I got mine from Space NK for a staggeringly wallet-weeping £55, not exactly an everyday purchase, but something to pick up if you fancy a bit of a treat.

Have any of you tried the Chantecaille Just Skin? Or does it sit wistfully on your wishlist?

DIOR Diorskin Nude BB Creme002. With promises of a perfecting, glow-injecting coverage with a dewy finish and a dose of epidermis-loving ingredients – this is a match made in heaven. See, here’s the deal, with this, a dewy-ish, skinlike finish is achieved and it sticks around for a good few hours or so before I need an extra dab onto my face.

Now with regards to the rest of the BB/tinted moisturiser clan this one ranks somewhere between the offerings from Jouer, (the Matte and Luminising Moisture Tints) in terms of finish – but I’m inclined to think that this one imparts just a bit more coverage. If we’re comparing to my other BB love, the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream then it’s slightly heavier and less radiant which for me, is ok. If it fits your BB bill then it’s £30 from FeelUnique.

And can somebody please convince me that I don’t need the Diorskin Nude Tan BB Creme? Thanks.
