Is it Monday?

Yesterday was a lazy day. Being my first day back to work after my 4 week long holiday and a bank holiday weekend I was somewhat lacking in enthusiasm for life. Enter two products that I reach for on lazy days that really feel like Mondays.

Chanel Perfection Lumiére Velvet FoundationB20 and B30. This is dubbed as a ‘lightweight second-skin that smoothes and evens out the complexion for a velvety matte result’ and for me, that’s exactly what it does. If you’re looking for a glowy, fresh finished formula then this isn’t the one. This is a new-gen matte that offers a natural coverage, skin-like finish – but for oilier skinned gals. It doesn’t quite live up to its sister Vitalumiére Aqua – but it’s definitely a close match. A blob of both B20 and B30 blended into the skin looks seriously incredible – radiant, yet long-lasting.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15B20 and B40. There’s some long standing confusion over the function of these powders, but I like a bit of B40 round the edges of my face to give some much needed definition and B20 down the centre for that extra scrap of coverage for days when you need a little somethin’ somethin’ but really can’t be bothered. I’m not hugely into powder foundation products – not that this is one of them, but even I can accept that sometimes thing’s can get a bit shiny, so just to be safe, and to add a bit of coverage, a quick dusting can work wonders. Something that’s light with a hint of colour is what you’re getting here. Extra points because it comes with its own brush and mirror – and it’s so beautiful!

A good Chanel-centric face-base line up for those days where you just need that extra 15 minutes in bed…
